here is the situation switched CPU from one board to another. cleaned off thermal compund and regreased. installed heatsink. powered up----nothing no beeps no POST. restarted with same results -- checked diagnostic LEDs all four red indicating a "improperly installed or damaged CPU" qucikly powered off. pulled heatsink and then smelled a very funny burning odor. CPU visually looks ok but system will not boot.
How is AMD on warranty?

Did you try to reseat the processor carefully hold firm pressure down not hard as you close the lever. Look at all the pins on the processor that you have not damaged them. Try again.
