Hello everyone.

Note (Be warned I know absolutely nothing about computers)

Ok so here is my problem. My new GeForce 6600GT OC card does not seem to be working too well in my CPU. It renders the scenery graphics in games pretty good but it can not render the people or the weapons proper. They are missing large triangles ECT.

My CPU system is:

WinXP Pro
AMD Athlon XP1600+
Gigabyte GA-7DXR
512RAM DDR
450W power supply

I called nVidia tec support and they said it sounds like I need to upgrade my chipset drivers and bios/mother board drivers. After that it should work well they said. I proceeded to go to the AMD and Gigabyte sites but there are so many update choices to download I do not know what to do. Any help would be great people.

Also some people have been telling me that the card will not work on my system because I need either more RAM or a faster processor and motherboard. Is this true? Is the 6600GT OC too much for my system.

Your motherboard uses a hybrid chipset(AMD761 northbridge and VIA southbridge). Your OS should already have the necessary drivers for both. Verify that they are properly and correctly installed. The chipset or platform drivers can also be found here' ">http://www.amd.com/us-en/Proce...0_182_871_2336,00.html(version 5.33 for 2000/XP) for the northbridge and here' ">http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2 for the southbridge but do not install the agp driver in the via 4in1 package.
