I just got a barebones unit with a problem. The middle white clamp is broken off the motherboard on both sides(like the last person couldn't get the heatsink off, and forced it). If I buy a heatsink fan with the 3 hole clamp, will it sufficiently cool my amd 2500+? Will it make solid enough contact with the clamps missing in the middle?

Actually the 3 hole clamp will suffice, I actually prefer them to the single style.

I would think you'll be fine. Make sure both holes on each side are securely hooked. If only hooked in one hole, the sink might be tilted. Monitor temperatures until you are sure it's OK.
