I replaced a motherboard on a Compaq Presario laptop with a new replacement Compaq motherboard. After replacing the board, the system no longer has the PowerNow feature. I have upgraded the BIOS and updated the processor driver and confirmed the amdk7.sys file is loaded. Scratching my head at this point I'm wondering if somehow the wrong CPU got put back in the system. I don't think so but anything is possible. So I'm trying to confirm that the installed processor supports PowerNow without having to disassemble the computer to read the CPU codes so that I can determine the CPU specs. Searching for information simply based on the CPUID has proved fruitless for the most part. Based on what I have read, it certainly appears that this CPU supports PowerNow but I need to be certain.
Can anyone confirm that this CPU supports PowerNow or tell me how I can find out.
Thanks for any info...
I have obtained the following details from AMD's CPUID utility.
