bought some arctic cooling mx-1 thermal paste the other day,and it didn't come with application instuctions.went to the website for the instructions and it only has the instuctions for one chip(not mine) could anybody tell me the best way to apply this paste to my xp3200 barton please..kind regards akanic

The amount of thermal paste applied to the CPU core only, will be approximately the size of a grain of rice. After that has been applied, spread evenly with a razor, credit card, or something similar, until you are left with a nice, even, paper thin layer of thermal paste.

Make sure you clean off any old thermal material that was previously on the processor with 70% alcohol, or stronger.

Mark9 not that daft m8..in my first post i said i went to the site for instructions you boon!! and it only gave instructions for another proccessor and not mine wasn't 100% sure..bye the way this stuff was a sod to put on..seemed a bit oily and wouldn't cling to the core..and yes i did clean the core and the heatsink with tim cleaner. .cant realy tell if its any good yet as it takes a while to get optimal performance..around 45 celsius idle which is a bit high for me..well see how it goes
