im running a athlon xp 3200+ and just wondering how hot the cpu should be getting. It is running at about 54 degrees celsius or about 129 F. I just did some upgrades. New MSI K880 Delta, and installed a second stick of ram. This same system use to run at 38 degrees C before the upgrades. This seems pretty hot to me or is this normal.

Is that at idle or at full load? If its at load, your ok. If its idle, its not. If your using MSI's PC alert, you may want to use something else like speedfan if its compatable. Even the guys at MSI forums will tell you not to use PCalert.

While I can't explain why your temperature rose like that, if you wanted it lowered, a new HSF would help alot. Although if that is the load temp it's not truley necessary right now.
