What is the power consumption for Model 8 Semprons? In the processor Model 8 data sheet , the typical/maximum thermal power is listed (in Table 6.1) as 62/55.9 watts for all Model 8 processors. The same table also states that all processors use the same current.. Both of these seem rather unlikely.

Don't take my advice too technicaly, but I can clarify (I think) on some way this... All the Semprons for Socket A requieres the same Voltage to work, but because the highers Models have a higher Frecuency, they dissipate somewhat more heat.

Yes, I too would expect that power consumption is greater in faster processors, all other things being more or less equal. For example, a Model 10 Athlon XP 2000+ uses 12% less power than a 2400+ (with a 20% lower clock speed). That's why I found the specifications in Table 6.1 of the Sempron tech reference to be either a misprint or very confusing.
