first of all i'd like to thank everybody for looking at this topic !
i'm very confused with AMD processors. My question is :
the sempron processor works on both 32bit and 64bit technology ?
the athlon 64bit processor supports only 754 socket and 939 ? is that correct ?
and the 64bit fx processor supports only 939 socket and 940 socket ? is that correct ? thanks

Nope.
ALL Sempron processors are 32-bit ONLY (even though Socket 754 Semprons are architecturally very similar to an Athlon 64).

If you're referring to the AMD Athlon 64 line of processors, that is correct
QUOTE and the 64bit fx processor supports only 939 socket and 940 socket ? is that correct ?
Yes and no...

Initially, the Athlon 64 FX series were released for Socket 940 (A64 FX-51).
The second Athlon 64 FX model to be released, the A64 FX-53, first came out on Socket 940 and was later complemented by a Socket 939 version.

With the new Athlon 64 FX-55, however, Athlon 64 processors will no longer use Socket 940 (there is only a Socket 939-version of the A64 FX-55) - ALL future Athlon 64 FX models will be Socket 939 parts.
