QUOTE(stealth13777 @ Oct 20 2005, 10:55 PM)the speed increase from going to a slower clock speed socket 754 chip would be minimal... plus you can always overclock.  my chip (socket a) benchmarks as good or better than many of the 754 chips

hah, you dont........his socket a sempron (which is overclocked) is probably as fast as a stock semrpon 2500 754 pin

K8 architecture is much more advanced......and dont listen to them guys abotu teh 754 pin, who cares if that procesor is being phased out? my baord has PCIe, pci, and sata and eveyrthign i need, plus 754, i coudlnt afford a 939 board......some of you cant either

*Cough* My oh my, I can perform my 754 as good as a 939 and it has a mem controler in the motherboard for dual channeling. >> lol Looks like the last of the 754s will go out with a bang. They are making a Athlon 64 4000+ (the 754 ver of the FX 55) and more semprons as well as core updates of old athlons. Plus notebooks will have dual cores in the future, put a laptop cpu into your desktop, have dual core cpu without going 939 and much cheaper not much of a performance difference consittering they can be matched, they are the same besides pin number if all future 754's are made with dual channeling. (Dual channeling isn't possible with older models, look up tforce 6100 754's). 754 motherboards may be discontinued in the future besides for laptops. But 754's can perform just as good as 939's. Look at sig. c_c Scarry isn't it. Ohh but i'm not done yet. >D
