I just got a Sempron 2500+ with an Asus a7v00mx board. Though win98 and me work just fine, I cant run or load xp. Im thinking there is a defect in the processor since the 32bit arch wont accept a true 32 bit os. Any thoughts? Mem and disks both check out - no virus activity or bad blocks.

What memory do you have? Does the installation always stop at the same place?

I've tried both 333 ddr and pc 2100 133 ddr - yes machine stops after loading files into memory (Blue set up screen) and then halts on starting windows (blue setup before partition and format modules. And yes my cd is a Hologramed xp sp2 disk.
