Hi All,

I'm looking at putting together a system with the Sempron and then later, popping in the latest 64fx chip. Naturally, I'm looking at a 939 board.

Does anyone know if the Sempron is out already or will be out in the 939 pin set/form factor?

I don't think semprons will ever be made for 939.

The sempron 3100+ is 754 so you could go there then upgrade to Athlon64 that way.

Athlon 64 'newcatle' 3000+
MSI K8N neo platinum
2x512mb Corsair VS pc-3200
Sapphire 128mb Radeon 9600xt
Antec 'true power' 430watt
Windows XP pro w/ sp2

The cheaper Socket 939 Processor is the Athlon 64 3000+ (The Socket 939 version, obiously ). There are rumors that AMD will make a Sempron 3200+ for Socket 939 but the last information about it was that it will be available as an OEM version only (For example, the Athlon 64 3300+ that some Hewell Packet computers got). Don't waste your time and go with that Athlon 64 that is already quite cheap and fast, and I suggest you wait until the Athlon 64 FX-57 (San Diego Core probabily) or a Dual Core Processor before upgrade again.
