Im going to be upgrading my cpu soon from an Intel 1.0ghz to an AMD Semphron 2500 or 2600. I wanted to know weather there's much difference between a 2500 and 2600.

The price difference is only around 9 pounds but when you got the mobo and ram to pay for... thats a lot of money

Im going to be using my CPU to play the latest games, Doom 3 an example, I've allready checked and the gfx card im getting is compatible (ATI Radeon 9600) but would there be any difference between a 2500 and 2600?

Thanks for reading this topic, I hope someone can help.

The diference in 3DMark is like 7 there's nothing to worry about. You'd better get som ereal memory, something like DDR500(Adata Vitesta, are the cheapest and they're good foe OC). But this [content edited] is too simple...Wish you luck!

well yes and no, at stock speeds there is a slight differnce, but the 2500+ would more likely run better at 200 fsb then the 2600+ if ur going try running them at 200 (400) fsb instead of 166 (333)
