I have an amd sempron processor with its own heatsink fan and have been given an amd Athlon 64 heat sink and want to know if i can use the heat sink fan for the 64 on my sempron processor, if so what difference will it make?

if both cpus r the same socket, the hsfs are replacable with each other..

One little thing to add.Just because it fits doesn't mean it will work aswell.

If you have a heatsink from a Athlon64 2800 it probably won't do a good job on a Sempron 3400.

If on the other hand it looks bigger than the current Sempron h/sink then it's probably going to do a decent job.
