I got an AMD Sempron 2600+ processor. Does it support 64-bit operation?
I tried to install Ubantu 64-bit version. If failed giving the error, "CPU does not support long mode. Please use 32 bit distribution"

the newer semprons do support 64bit.
cpu-z will verify http://www.cpuid.com

the NEWER ones do
that means that the older ones don't

and i am talking about the 2600+
its the same for all of them

so it depends on the stepping/revision

is anyone familiar with a sempron 3500+ 939 socket? mine is that but there is little or no info on this, only goes up to model 3400+. anyone?
