Hey all ,, Hope this is the right place.
I am running a Averatec 3700 laptop with a Sempron 3000+ @ 1.80 Ghz and 1.46 gigs of ram
I have a onair GT high def USB tuner attatched to it. When I use the tuner in the High def mode 1920x1080 it is a Bit laggy/choppy. When it is operating the tuner The CPU runs between 85 and 100% constantly . When I use the channels that broadcast at 1280x720 it is fine. Is there any way I can get this thing to work better?? or are there any services I can turn off to make it smoother??
I have a dell 5000 with a P4 that has no problem doing this tumer but the sempron seems to be laboring a Bit too much. Is this par for the chip or is there some sort of driver update. please reply here or drop me a line at Stuffyhead1@aol.com

Which OS?

-Could try using RMClock to lock it to max. performance Profile for the time of the viewing
-If the laptop has wireless LAN, can disable that for the time of viewing
-Set RAM Command Rate to 1T by using A64Info
-install latest processor driver
