I have an Abit NF8 series motherboard with a semprom 2800+ processor part no. SDA2800AIO3BX. Graphics card is Radeon 9250 Vivo. Win XP Pro sp3.
I obtained a Sempron 3400+ processor part no. SDA3400AIO3BX.
Amd compatability indicates the 3400+ will work on my MB. Is there anything else I need to know before attempting the swap? Will this work with the win xp that was loaded using the 2800+ or will I have to start with fresh OS?

Should be be fine with a direct swap, nothing else.
