I had to fry one of them. I know how one of them got fried. When I was building my first computer I didn't use any standoff and when I powered it up all I saw was smoke from the Motherboard/CPU area. After I put some standoffs in, all of the fans and L.E.D's started up fine, except I got no picture from the monitor. The monitor stayed on the orange light (suspend I believe). The motherboard has built in video but also has a video card slot. I put an AGP card in so I know its not the video card. I also checked to make sure the CMOS was on normal. I also checked the power supply and it's not that. So I'm thinking I either fried the motherboard or CPU. I get no beeps when turning the system on. The hard drive l.e.d constantly flickers though and the CD drive is constantly trying to read. Is there any way of telling which one I fried so I can know what to replace? I have a AMD Sempron 2400 and a PCChips M863G v1.5 motherboard.
