I have an MSI KM4M-V motherboard with a Socket A Sempron 2500+, both bought NIB from Newegg.com. I have plugged everything in including a stick of 256mb 333 memory, but nothing happens when the switch is pressed. I have tested the PSU and switch to find them both operational, but the board will simply not turn on. Now MSI's website does not include Sempron in the supported list, but there is a BIOS update that can make it support K7 Sempron processors. Newegg claimed that the board supported Semprons and the box for the board has a large sticker stating that the board supports Semprons. Does this mean that the board came with the BIOS already updated for it or that it is possible. I am assuming either the board is dead or the BIOS is not updated. Could the board suppossed to have been updated but it wasnt? The power supply will not even turn on or anything, which makes me mad because I had an ECS KT600-A motherboard before which did the same thing, so I sent it back to Newegg and bought a new one. (I also need integrated video) So do you think the board is DOA because that would be the second board from 2 seperate companies from a reliable retailer that was DOA, or that the BIOS may not be udated. I do not have another socket A processor to update the BIOS so I am wondering if the board does not turn on at all, is the board DOA or will a board do that if it doesnt support the processor placed in it. Im doing this for my mom and shes getting mad at me now so please help! Thanks a lot!
