I realise this sort of question is coming up a lot but I can't find a post with an exact explanation for my problem.
I have a Sempron 2800+ on an Asus A7N8X-X board with an updated BIOS (rev 1010) which is supposed to support Semprons.
The jumper is in the default FSB 400/333/266 position.
The CPU is showing as Athlon at 1200 MHz
The BIOS shows an external frequency of 100MHz with a multiplying factor of 12
The memory is 512MB DDR400 PC3200 this is showing on boot-up as running at 200 MHz - is this right?
Thanks in advance for any help

No, you need to run at 12x
166MHz
that would be an effective bus of
333MHz

Physics? Ha! This is clearly magic and devilry at work. Prepare firewood! We have witches to burn!
