Hi , well i bought a AMD Sempron +2500 about a month ago ... I use to use a MSI K8mm-v Motherboard , but today i just ordered a new motherboard which looks pretty nice , the ASUS K8N-E Deluxe , so i went unscrewing everything , when it was the step to remove the heatsink fan off the processor , i unclipped it (unlocked) and removed gentlely the heatsink fan without force .... but suddently i saw the proccesor sticked like a magnetic to the heatksink !!!!!!!! then i thought nothing special , so i tried on the new motherboard with everything connected .... i tried NOTHING appears to show on the monitor !!! I went right away to my local seller , he says that one pin (a golden pointy in the back of the CPU) was removeddddd !!!! I mean , whattt? I din't even use any force, power, movement to do this , he says this is like a garbage , of course i was kind of shocked .... that wasnt really my fault. He says NO REPLACEMENT either REPAIR !!!

Question : Does AMD cover warranty or can repair this CPU? thanks , its really a waste , i mean , its all the fault of the heatsink fan not me , yea sure ... awarded heatsink fan ..... here's what i got result of .... broken cpu =(

Any answer is appreciated, thanks.

EDIT FOR REPLY: Wow thats what i call being a "hardcore" repairer, i really cant guess how to find a wire small and golden like this one , really , the PIN really came off the CPU , it used to be sticked in the hole of the motherboard cpu emplacement , but i got it out , but lost the little pin , or maybe i can find it with a magnetic .... and take it to a jeweler? But where? any exemple stores you can give ? thanks i live in CANADA btw. It was fast reply. Thank you.

The pins are on the opposite side of the cpu than the heatsink, so it really couldn't have hurt them. About the only thing I can think to do is try to solder a piece of wire on in place of the pin. Unless you a REALLY good at soldering, though, i wouldn't do it yourself. It should be easy to find and cut a piece of wire to the proper length... soldering it on is the hard part. Try taking it to a local jeweler and see if he's willing to do the job (because he can definately handle it). And don't be afraid to pay him a little.
