I have: LanParty UT nf3 250gb ultra motherboard "K8 cool'n'quiet support = auto" Boxed Sempron 3100+ (64-bit) Windows XP Pro SP2
Here's what I've done: I downloaded the amdcpu.exe driver (Athlon 64) I set my power properties to "Minimal Power Management". I also tried setting my power properties to "Always On". I installed the AMD Power Monitor and it shows my CPU constantly at 1800mhz.
Any ideas why the CPU speed is not throttling back at idle? Thanks.

Found the problem... The CPU was not recognized by my motherboard BIOS. I had to flash the bios to a BETA bios. I was running the latest official bios, but it did not support the 64-bit semprons... Flashed to the beta bios, CPU is recognized, and Cool'N'Quiet works like a champ... Hope this helps anyone with the same mobo as me...

QUOTE(r3sil3 @ Nov 18 2005, 11:52 AM)How do you like CNQ? Iv'e heard good and bad. Its not for us Overclockers though.
CnQ is nice... I leave my computer on 24/7 and only use it maybe 1-2 hours a day, so for the other 22-23 hours it sits at 1000mhz... I have minimal cooling in there, since it's a quietPC, so having a bit less heat from the CPU is nice as well...
I am not overclocking this particular system (it's just my daily use PC for browsing, etc...) so CnQ works well...
