I recently (within the past four weeks) built a new system based on the MSI K8T NeoFSR (MS-6702) motherboard. I'm using the Sempron 2800+, Socket 754 version; the board, of course, is Socket 754. I would like to find out what the optimum settings in the CMOS would be to get the best performance out of this CPU without overclocking. Right now, the CPU (according to Everest Home Edition) appears to be running at a real clock speed of 200 MHz and an effective clock speed of 200 MHz. I suspect that might be too low because data I've found elsewhere on the web indicates that the Socket 754 2800+ has a 400MHz bus speed (it runs at 1.6GHz). Also, I think the RAM might be set at too slow a speed. I have 1 GB of PC3200/DDR400 RAM in two 512MB sticks installed, and according to Everest the speed is currently set at 200MHz (I think it's supposed to be 400MHz). If anyone out there has the same or a similar setup, can you give me some idea what the best CMOS setup might be for this CPU?
