New MoBo with Sempron 2500+ won't post...am checking the jumper settings for the CPU frequency...choices are 100Mhz, 133Mhz, 166Mhz and 200Mhz. Looks like it's set now at 100Mhz...please advise (thank you in advance!.

CPU: Sempron 2500+
RAM: PC3200 512Mb
MB: Matsonic MS8177C
Chipset: VIA KT600

Socket A Semprons run at 166Mhz frequency. Change it to 166Mhz, then clear the CMOS. It should boot. If not, make sure everything is plugged in and you only try to boot with the minimum hardware.

If your MB requires 2 power plugs make sure both are plugged in.

Matsonic boards, like their PCCHIPS/ECS brethren, ship with the CMOS jumper on CLEAR. It must be on NORMAL to boot.
