(Puggy @ Feb 25 2005, 06:28 PM) Hi guys and gals,
originally I was going to post this message:QUOTE
after doing much research and not finding a definite answer, I decided to ask.
I have a the Asus a7v400-MX and the AMD Sempron 2800+, but it is detected as an AMD Athlon XP 1.2 GHz.
The first thing I checked was the jumper settings, and they are at 166MHz (1-On, 2-3-4-5-Off).
I read somewhere that it could be the power supply. I have a 350 watt one, is that enough?
But will writing, I looked up a different search on groups.google.com and lo and behold. I got this thread:groups.google.com Thread
It says that some manuals where missprinted, and that the correct DSW configuration is wrong in the manual, the correct values are:CODE
1 2 3 4 5
100mhz off off off off off
133mhz off on off on off
166mhz off on on on on
200mhz off off on on on
Can someone confirm this.
Any help would be appreciated.
I had the same problems with the same MB but sempron 2400 and you are right. I made BIOS upgrade and I put the first dip switch off and all others on (for FSB 333).. In manual of MB write " The white block represents the switch position". Look carefully at picture.
With this setup of MB recognize corect the procesor.
