I just purchased a new board and cpu .I am really green as far as o/c ic concerned .I tryied to o/c my fsb to 259 which work but when I check it with cpu-z the reading are the same.Any help would be appreciated.

cpu-3100+ semprom
gigabyte k8vm800m
ddr ram ddr400 Kingston 512 mb (one stick)

my bios has the newest version

Did you make sure to save the setting in your bios?

Yeah, typically you can just use the FSB to o/c, but there are other options like the multiplier and voltage. But use the FSB, it is the safest and you really cant damage your system if you use just that. I would advise against the voltage, because it will damage your processor over time.
