Following the power supply on my Sempron rig blowing up (no fire, but lots of smoke), I replaced the PSU with a little bit stronger and a better brand name... Anyway, When it's turned on now, it seems to take 5 minutes to come out of post, and then stops at "DISK ERROR, PRESS ANY KEY". I'm thinking that might mean that the PSU fried the HDD as well, but why would post be running slowly? I'm wondering if it's the motherboard or the IO handlers for the HDD.

Thanks for the suggestions. Through some quick troubleshooting I noticed that the drive was indeed slowing down the post, and after booting several times without anything connected I decided to check the jumper cable settings on the back of the HDD. It seems as though it was set to Master, Slave Present though there never was a slave present, and these have been the settings for the past 2 years or so while it's been up and running. Removing the jumper corrected the problem and the PC now boots quickly as per the usual. Thanks!
