I have the following:
AMD Sempron 2800+ socket 754
BIOS AMI v.1.5
MSI RS482M-IL series mobo (MS-7145)
Western Digital 40gb HDD (4 years old)
WinXP Home
ATX form factor
350w PSU?

Question: On the AMD site it shows MSI MS-7135 but not MS-7145 (mine) as recommended mobo's.
On the MSI site both models show support for the AMD processor.
When installed, the computer will not boot the OS at all. I checked the BIOS and it shows the HDD is there
but no matter how I try, I can not get the system to boot. If I reinstall the old mobo, it boots just fine.
What could the problem be? Thank you.

You can't change motherboards and expect the operating system to work. You have to format reinstall the os.
