Noob to this forum and flat out dumb when it comes to cpu's.
Ordered a Sempron 2800+ that's supposed to run at 2.0. My computer says it's a 1.2 though.
Called company said to return it and sent a new one. The new one says it's a 1.2 too!!! I've decided that it has to be a configuration prob. Any advice?

It's running with a 100fsb at the moment. You need to get into the bios and set it to 166.

I cannot set my fsb to 166 it does not give me an option to change it it is locked on 100. Is it my RAM? I have one 256mb stick at 133mhz and one 512 stick at 200. Do I need to upgrade my BIOS?

Northbridge VIA P4M266/KM266 (VT8375) rev. 00

The board doesn't support 333ddr. The best you can do is 12x133.

No. I'm afraid not. 12x133~1.6GHz is the best you'll get on that board. The memory needs to run at 133(266ddr) at 2 2 2 6 timings to get the best performance.

I have an amd Sempron 2800+ processor (2000 mhz real speed)
I formatted my hard drive and now my system displays only 1.193 mhz .
Above that, now my system displays that I have AMD ATHLON instead of Sempron processor. It's unbeliveable. What can I do?
