Hi
I got a new box with Amd Sempron 3300+ 64 SK754. When I install trial version of XP x64 it crashs saying please install 32 bits software.
Is my new system not able to run XP x64?
Am I missing any thing?
Any help will be appreciated.
Best regards

If you have another OS installed I would download and run CPUZ (google it) on that processor, to make sure you do have a sempron 64 bit based processor. It is possible you have a sempron 3300 that is just a regualr 32bit processor.

You will find a field where you can see "x86-64" and also SSE3 support fro CPU.

Here you have some more info from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD64

On the first Tab, the default one, named CPU, in the middle of the page you will see something that says instructions. If your CPU is a 64 bit processor it will say x86-64 as one of its instructions.
