I need some help. I just put together a new computer and can't seem to get it to power up correctly.
Components list:
Biostar motherboard geforce6100-m9,
939 socket,
amd sempron 3400+
ultra 350 watt ps,
seagate 100g hdd,
liteon dvd burner with lightscribe,
512mb ultra memory,
ultra 7 in 1 media reader,
My problem, when I turn it on I can hear the cpu fan running, a red lite comes on on the media reader but I cannot hear the hdd spin and the dvd door won't open. Its like Im not getting any power to the hdd or dvd. I have tried plugging in both sets of wires coming out of the ps but no power. I don't hear any signal beeps (post test beeps) when I power up either.
Can anyone offer some help.

some things to try...
1 clear cmos and discharge power supply (turn off psu from the back and press the power on button)
if that doesn't work..
2. run it barebones.. no hard drive or optical drive connected..
3. if it still doesnt work, try running it outside the case, in case there is a short.

that sempron IS s939 right? just to be sure

Yeah there are socket 939 semprons out there, but AMD mostly gave em to OEMs and stuff. Although I do remember TigerDirect selling them, idk if they still do.

EDIT: And Ultra doesn't necessarily make the most reliable PSU's, so I'm gonna say that your PSU is the issue.
