Ok so Im considering getting an msi k8t master2-far motherboard, but I'm concerned with the oddball heatsink problem with it. Apparently, the board has a P4 heatsink assembly instead of an AMD one. It ships with 2 heatsinks that work with the board, but they are obviously P4 and not AMD style.
So, the AMD warrenty information (for their boxed processors) is apparently void if you use a P4 heatsink.
In addition, I've been told that the fans that come with the MSI board are really loud. If I wanted to change the heatsinks, I'd have to swap them out for standard P4 ones.
What's the AMD stance on this? Does it void the warrenty?
