Hi
Clearspeed had announced new Floating Point Accelerator Co-Processor for Opteron CPU.
They claimed a peak speed of 25 GFlops.

Several experts said that the 25 GFlops claim is just a scam / hoax.

Is their benchmark result a REAL data or just a hoax?
Is there any Opteron motherboard with Clearspeed Co-processor?
Thank you.

ClearSpeed Technology, developer of highperformance, low- power, programmable microprocessor solutions, along with Jungo Software Technologies, provider of the WinDriver PCI/USB driver development toolkit, today announced the enabling of 64-bit Linux support for Jungo's WinDriver on AMD Opteron processor-based platforms.

Ask ClearSpeed directly or buy a CX-600 development board.

It is a real product, can't vouch for specific throughput -- It all depends on your code and how well it can take advantage of the PE's. As far as I know, there are no implementations integrated with motherboard. There is at least one implementation of an FPGA on an Opteron motherboard (Xylinx Virtex II on Cray XD1) -- The Virtex is not the same as the ClearSpeed, but similar idea for offloading certain computationally intensive tasks.

If you have a real project budget I am sure you will find vendors accomodating.

What problem are you trying to solve? Most specialty processors will work best with certain problem domains.
