My friend decided to go out and buy duel opterons for some reason from a compyter show, and now i have to put this computer together. obviously he didnt know what he was doing. So my question is, Does Opteron chips require the use of Windows xp 64 or can he use Xp Pro with no problems? He has no need to 64 bit power, but is stuck with them now and i need to make it work.

The Opterons have the ability to run in 32bit or 64bit "mode", therefore you can either install a 32bit Windows OS or try out the 64bit Beta that Microsoft is currently offering. Of course with the Beta you'll be more on the "bleeding edge" and should understand that you should feedback any problems with the OS (if you find any) to the proper channels, which is the point of a Beta program.
