I have two PC's, one has a
AMD-K6™ 3D processor AuthenticAMD ~450 Mhz processor
and the other has a
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 0 AuthenticAMD ~1532 Mhz
processor

I want to buy a DVD burner for both of them. But the system requirements of
the DVD burners are that they have a
Pentium III 450 MHz or faster CPU

So my question is are either one of my AMD processors
compatible with a Pentium lll 450 MHz processor ??

Dont worry, it is possible to connect a DVD Burner to an Pentium 1 machine, too.
Not sure why the company printed a P3 requirement on the box, maybe because of DVD playback. Anyways, if you just wanna burn DVDs, you can do so in any computer with a IDE connector.
If you want to watch movies without stutter, too, better use your AthonXP, no problems there whatsoever.

should work on a PII @450mhz... PIIIs are more or less PIIs with the capacity to hit higher clocks...

your 450mhz K6 should work fine though, worst case scenario, you drop 30 bucks at a used computer store for a CPU/motherboard upgrade. The 1.4ghz athlon is more than sufficient though.

as for either though, they are nto cross compatable with pentium 3s, they fit in the sockets/slots diferently.... dson't see what having a socket compatable proc woudl ahev to do with PC compaability for a burner though... heh, joking, I know what you meant.
