i dont see why it wouldnt function well... especially with the corsair.

Sorry, forgot to mention what I want to upgrade to. I want to add an Opteron 175 to my ASUS A8N-E and 2GB XMS. Anyone using this?

it should definitely work. i have a similar albeit not identical setup (check sig) and everything working perfectly so far
