I am upgrading from a P4 to either an Athlon 64 3700+ or an Opteron 148. I think the opteron will perform better, but i don't know why on newegg (or anywhere else) that the "HT speed" is 1000mhz instead of the Athlon 64's 2000mhz. That's the only reason im hesitating to by the opteron. Anyone know why the opteron is slower? and does it affect performance?
