Its not on Asus a8v deluxe cpu support list, have you tried to contact asus?
They have just added dualcore opteron 165 and 175, and support for fx-60.

-------------------------
Athlon 64 3500+ "Newcastle"
Asus a8v deluxe (rev.2)
Ocz pc-4000 xtc gold 2x1024
Hiper 580watt
Gainward Geforce 6800gt(overclocked to 442mhz core, 1200mhz ram)
WD 200 Gb s-ata 8mb cache
WD 250 Gb s-ata 16mb cache
Thermaltake Beetle cpu cooler (looks like a jumbo jet engine, and sounds like one)
Thermaltake Soprano Case (with the included fans, my computer sounds like an airport)
