I have a Gigabyte KN8-Pro-SLI. Gigabyte's web site is out of date and they haven't replied to my e-mails. I looked for a motherboard compatability list to no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction for the chart or does anyone know if I can run this CPU in my mobo? TIA for any help!

It's rather unlikely your mobo officially supports this processor as it's a desktop mobo and AMD doesn't like people supporting their workstation chips in desktop mobos. However this doesn't mean it won't work just that if it doesn't work you can't complain. You should try asking people who have the mobo whether it works rather then if it's officially supported.

Some motherboard vendors have been somewhat proactive in getting Opterons to work properly in their mobos even if they can't officially support them. E.g. DFI. Gigabyte probably isn't as concerned but it might still work

if the mobo supports X2 cpus.. then it will run the Opteron 180 just fine.
