I am interested in building a system using the 242 processor.

I have looked on the web site and found these part numbers

OSA242BOX
OSA242CC05AH
OSA242CEP5AL
OSA242CEP5AU

The BOX has a 3 yr. warantee and the rest have 1 year. Also the box has no stepping and the rest do. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these processors and what is stepping.

A location to this information would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Harry

QUOTE OSA242CC05AH
B3-revision part, 1.55V Vcore (CPU-voltage), does NOT support DDR400 memory and cannot be mixed with newer C0 or CG-rev parts.
QUOTE OSA242CEP5AL
C0-revision part, 1.50V Vcore (CPU-voltage), supports DDR400 memory and can be mixed with CG-rev parts (if supported by your motherboard).

Retail/boxed part - could be any of the above...i recommend you ask your reseller for the OPN (ordering Part Number) of the actual processor.

See here' ">http://www.amd.com/us-en/asset...rical_Spec_Rev_ENG.pdf for more info regarding OPNs.

In this case, 'stepping' is the processor's silicon revision.
