First off, Windows XP 64-bit edition for 64-bit extended systems(AMD64) is currently in BETA.
It should be used for evaluation purposes only, NOT as your main O/S since stability and compatibility cannot be guaranteed at this point.
A processor-driver will ONLY be required to use the Athlon 64's Cool'n'Quiet feature - Opteron processors DO NOT support C'n'Q and will consequently NOT require a processor-driver.
As far as i know a processor driver for WinXP 64-bit BETA is not availyble yet.

cool, I know its beta. I just want to give it a try and I'm making sure that my hardware will have drivers BEFORE I install it rather then after. Mostly I am interested in amd chipset drivers as I am using a tyan tiger k8w with an amd chipset.
