QUOTE 2 FX 53 Socket 940 RETAIL BOX Athlon 64 FX (S940) processors as well as 100 series Opteron processors can be used in uniprocessor (single-CPU) configurations ONLY, as they do not have an coherent Hypertransport-links which would be required for CPU-to-CPU communication.
If you want to go with a dual-CPU setup, then you must go with 200 series Opterons. At stock speeds, an Athlon 64 FX-53 is equivalent to an Opteron 150/250/850.
