i want to buy the tyan k8we

ive read that it needs EPS12V 24+8+6 pin power supplies

i have a 550 watt antec truecontrol
http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=20552' ">http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=20552
which has a 20 pin plug

ive also found a whole bunch of kits claiming to convert normal atx supplies to this EPS12V standard....ie
http://www.casetech.co.uk/prod...prod...&cat=451&page=1' ">http://www.casetech.co.uk/prod...d=17421&cat=451&page=1
quoting "Enermax 20pin to 24pin Power Lead Converter.
Convert a 20pin PSU into a 24pin PSU.

No need to purchase a 24 pin PSU if you already own a PSU with a 20 pin connector, and a 24 pin motherboard connector."

BUT...

will that work or not?
ive read a few things saying it will a few that it wont (with nasty flames), im spending money like it wasnt mine here (shush visa!. so please tell me its all ok and i can cuddle up to my bank account again. or tell me i will burn a hole in my desk if i try it. (not to mention my pocket)

thanks guys

ps

anyone want to buy a very nice antec truecontrol? (with 20 pins plug) /blush.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blush.gif' />

For such a board I ALWAYS recommend to get a matching EPS12V PSU.
