I had a problem like you before but ill link the soultion i used if i can find it.

It was a windows error fix application.

Ho well.

@zeppelinrox, tried your program, it found a lot of errors, but didn't fix my slow explorer load...

I think I will do another xp installation and partition the hdd..
Can’t do this before next week...

ist it running for you (are you surfing at this time) or not?

download this one plz

and now go to "file" "save as" and post this txt or the content of it.

Yes I'm able to surf, everything works great but it takes a while to be able to. I have to wait a good 3 to 4 minutes each time my pc boot ...

Here is what came up with the program you recommanded...
I don't know this program and what it shows exactly, but it seems to me like startup programs in my pc...

oh geez i hadnt realized you have an Opteron 165
had you gone thru the dual core installation guide? http://forums.amd.com/index.php?showtopic=64936

there is a hotfix there you should get

Yap, I went on that link when I built the pc .... hotfix is in my machice, and so the x2 driver....

Hi.
Just letting you know I now run on a fresh window installation, and everything works fine.
this time, I put the os on a partitionned HDD of 25G.

and THANKS TO ALL FOR THE GREAT SUPPORT HERE !!!

i thought it was searching/acquiring network connections but it was a similar problem but printer related.
