Ok, I just upgraded from an Athlon 3500 to an Opteron 165. Problem is Windows will not recognize a second processor like I believe it should with a dual core. CPU Z only lists one thread and one core.

I've taken the following actions

1. Flashed my bios (The board will support dual core)

2. Installed the AMD Opteron processor driver instead of the windows driver

Am I missing something here?

Try the steps outlined in the guides here and here.

You need to either reinstall or upgrade the HAL from single to multiple processors
