Hi Buddies.... hope you can help me

Our new Server is completed now and I just tried to configure it.
The machine is running well, but Windows just recognized 1 core!

Windows 2000 Advanced Server or Windows 2003 Enterprise - even the same...

Latest Bios is on, so what can be the problem?
Board-Descriptions says just opteron-compatible.... not 100- or 200-series /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

An Opteron 246 is a single core CPU...

Please post Screenshots from the Device Manager (extend the Processor section) and the Task manager with the CPU-Graph(s).

The picture shows that you have just one CPU installed so everything is OK with your system.

Some additional information:
Opteron 24x - 25x = single core CPUs for dual CPU systems (that's why they are named 2xx)
Opteron 26x - 28x = dual core CPUs for dual CPU systems

The 1xx Opterons can not be used in pairs.
The 8xx Opterons can be used in several combinations up to 8 CPUs.

So if you want to have a system for multitasking you should buy a second CPU or replace the one that you already have.
