I had the 1001 bios that came installed on my SK8V I bought a month ago.. and I installed a 120m SilenX fan, which was very quiet and according to ASUS PC probe and the bios - my temps were hanging around 50C for the CPU.. which seemed okay to me.

When I upgraded the bios to 1002, it wouldn't even boot - the bios said the processor was to hot and when I looked in the bios, it was idling at 65!

So I've been runnign for a week idling at 65!

I put back my old loud silverstone fan and the temps returned to 45C and everything seems fine and dandy... But, Is it possible I damaged my processor? Is there any way to tell?

thing is on certen bios' on the asus sk8v it will defualt your vcore to 1.75v and I bet my life on it even though your where showing 1.5v under bios for user select you where really at 1.75v..

thiong to try is go into bios and set vcore at like 1.45v manualy yes under volt and it should fix that issue..

also under jumper free config. always run auto

never perfomance or manual
