I just replaced my mp2000+ processors with the mp 2600+ Barton.
I am using the ASUS A7M266-D motherboard with bios version 1011 and I had bios 1010 in the initial install of the 2600 processors. The bios is reporting the processors as being MP2400+ processors and it's running at 2 GHZ and the FSB is at 266 at 1.66 volts on cpu0 and 1.63 volts at cpu1. The CPU Information program is reporting the L2 cach as being 512k and the Family/Model/Step is 6.10.0 so it is the barton core. What MHZ does the MP2600+ Barton core run at and did AMD ever release a MP 2400+ Barton core. I believe my bios is misreporting.
Overall the processors are running great as did the 2000+ but cooler. Still waiting on the pci express to come out so I can build an athlon 64 system.

The Athlon MP 2600+ does run at 2.0GHz, and yes an Athlon MP 2400+ exists - it is clocked 2.0GHz aswell, but it's a model 8 with only 256KB of L2-cache.

AMD released 2 versions of the 2600 to further confuse us.
A Thorobred B, and a Barton core.
The Barton had a multiplier of 15, while the Thorobred was set for 15.5 if I'm not mistaken.

the only Athlon MP processors currently in production are the 2600 and the 2800 bartons, so grab the 2200+'s and the 2400's bfore the floating ones are gone.
