I want to upgrade my MP1800+ to MP2800+'s

I have a Tyan Tiger MPX S2466N,
which for some magic reason will not accept a Barton MP2800+.

So WHY will the MP2800+ not work? AMD Techsupport guru's?

Tyan techsupport says the following:

They only cost 186 iso 239 for the 2800+

I found the following at tyans site:
Note: AMD Athlon MP 2800+ support applies to S2466N-4M version only, S2466N has maximum of Athlon MP 2600+ support.

Do you have the 4M version of the motherboard? if so, the latest bios for the 4M board will let you use the 2800+ CPU's.

The 2800+ is made with the Barton core, the 2600+ can be either a Thoroughbred or a Barton Core.

Maybe for some reason your motherboard will not support Barton cores??

I own the S2466N not the S2466N-4M:-(
I asked this question to Tyan techsupport, and they replied

This page says that the MP2600 is a model 8, but the barton cored MP2600 would be a model 10 I suppose. Took ages to find specs

Several web sites are offering the MP2800 at 333fsb. I know that it is a Barton core and I have seen how to enable an XP barton to MP but is there a Motherboard that will support 333MHz fsb?
PS Haven't seen anything that will OC to 166MHz, so I suppose 200MHz is out of the question?
