I have the Tyan S2466N-4M, which was only shown by AMD on the TBred MP2600 (model 8) recommended MB list and NOT on the Model 10 Barton list. Since clock speed is probably more important than L2 Cache size for my applications not to mention the absence on the AMD MB listings, I ordered what I thought was the TBred versions from NewEgg as they listed it with 256K L2 Cache running @ 2133 MHz on the website and my invoice. What I actually ended up getting was the larger cache/ lower clocked Barton version.
I realize that it may not mean much, but it really bothers me that AMD does not recommend my MB with this version processor. The funny thing is that AMD lists the 2466N-4M for the MP2800 Barton - this should be the same exact proc running at a slightly higher clock....right?
I assume I will be OK running the MP2600 Bartons in the 2466N-4M, but stability is paramount for me and just wanted to be sure. This system has been ROCK solid with a pair of MP1900's for over 18 months.
