I have a Tyan S2927 GNR MB, two AMD 2200 processors (dual core), Linux Centos 4.7, 4 Gb ram in two banks on CPU0 side.

Computer started acting flaky, then issued

Kernel panic - not syncing: Machine Check.

I cannot even boot from the Centos install disk

I shut down the computer this morning, when I came home, I rebooted, this time the secondary hard drive was making bad noises, so I removed it (OS is on the other one).

Can anybody help me diagnose this? My limited research indicates that Bank 4 refers to memory and the northbridge

I just rebooted and got a different set of codes, the only thing that was the same was 4 Bank 4:

This is really flaky, sounding like a memory error.

I feel like I am talking tomyself.

Anyways, I ran Memtest86 v4.10 (bootable disk) and so far found four failures on test 3.

You made 3 posts in 15 minutes, you can't expect an instant reply can you!

Definitely sounds like memory error. Remove or replace the stick. Test again.
